Finance Team
St Chad’s Finance Team was formed in June 2011 and is responsible for managing the finances of the Church. This includes oversight but not day to day responsibility for the finances of the Development Team. The main areas of work of the Finance Team comprise the preparation of the annual accounts of the Church and an annual income and expenditure budget, monitoring the expenditure of the five Church Working Groups and principal budget holders of the Church along with the presentation of quarterly finance reports to the Parochial Church Council and a yearly finance report to the Annual Parish Church Meeting. The Team also deals on an ongoing basis with miscellaneous issues in respect of the Church finances as they arise.

The Team has four members. They are Susan Smith, the Deputy Director of Finance and a chartered accountant, Ann Matthews, the Church accounts manager, Tina Richards, church warden who brings to the Team her comprehensive knowledge of St Chad’s and David Saunders, who as the Director of Finance is responsible for the overall management of the Team.
Team meetings are held in the evenings at the church office on a regular basis three to four weeks apart but more frequently when circumstances require. The meetings follow an outline agenda prepared by the Director of Finance who also prepares and circulates the minutes of each meeting. The ethos of the Team has since its inception been collaborative inclusivity and all its members participate in discussion of agenda items readily offering their opinions and suggestions on the matters discussed.
The financial management of St Chad’s is complex and often time consuming because of the size of the Church and the extent and variety of its work and community outreach. The members of the Team hope that, in accordance with the approach adopted by the Team they are able to contribute to and positively support the ongoing life and work of St Chad’s.
