Recruiting

Welcome to this page.

Employment:

Carpark attendants. Are you available Friday mornings for 6 hours, from 0800, as a paid volunteer? £9.50/h. Contact Susan Kynaston – details here.

Volunteers:

Bell-ringers. St Chad’s bell ringers are recruiting new members to the band. They are planning a Taster Evening  on Tuesday 7 th March, at St Chad’s, from 7.30 to 9 pm. This will be an opportunity to learn how a bell works and have a first lesson in handling the bell yourself, guided by an experienced teacher. You can then sign up for a six week course of training, using the bells at St Chad’s and St Mary’s. A national campaign has been launched to recruit more bell ringers for the Coronation on 6 th May. Those who start to learn in March can look forward to taking part in this celebration ringing, but of course we are hoping that learners will want to keep up their new hobby and help to ring the bells for future services.
Contact Gill, 01743 891407, for more information and to book your place. See the flier here.

Church Stewards. Are you available on a morning or an afternoon during the week to help keep St Chad’s open by being a welcoming friendly face for the hundreds of visitors we get per week? Leaflets to distribute to sightseers, donations boxes to point out as appropriate, warm spaces available for any struggling with the cold, and plenty of conversation – or none – with all-comers. Contact Susan Kynaston via the church office for more details. (Email: [email protected], or phone 01743 365 478).
