St Chad’s Christmas Tree Festival 2017

Over fifty decorated and illuminated Christmas trees will fill St Chad’s for the opening of our sixth Christmas Tree Festival.  There will be a diverse daily programme of Christmas music, song and dance from 9th to 16th of December. Admission is free. This spectacular display of trees will continue to be open to view daily until 3rd January 2018. Over 10,000 people visited St Chad’s last year and looked around the trees.

The daily Christmas programme will include performances by school choirs, musicians and dancers, recitals on St Chad’s spectacular organ, Morris dancers and handbell ringers as well as St Chad’s regular Friday ‘Concerts in the Round’.

The trees are sponsored by the generosity of local businesses, community organisations and schools, colleges and musical groups. Those schools mainly and other organisations taking part  as performers, without sponsoring a tree, are most welcome and take part without charge in this celebration of Christmas. It’s a special experience, with some beautifully decorated Christmas trees in the wonderful ambience of St. Chad’s; a real Christmastide treat for all the family.
