Street Pastors April-June prayer diary is available to collect from the church.

Accounts for the Year Ended December 2023 are on display in the vestibule for inspection prior to the APCM (28 April).

Jazz in the Round at St Chad’s church Saturday 27th April 1.30-3pm. This informal concert will commemorate the 125th birthday of jazz composer, pianist and bandleader Duke Ellington, one of the most pivotal and revered figures in the history of jazz and 20th century music. In the words of Ellington: “It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing!”. This is a free event, with donations very welcome. Hot drinks and cake will be served. Concerts in the Round. Friday April 26th, 12.30pm sees the soprano Blaize O’Callaghan and pianist Yeeching Lau – details here. Concerts are free of charge with lunch in the hall afterwards. “Silence and Stillness” monthly meditation; on the first Saturday of each month 11am-11.45am at St Chad’s with WCCM | The World Community for Christian Meditation, with coffee and tea afterwards. All are welcome. The meeting follows the tradition of Christian meditation as taught by John Main and provides an introduction for those new to meditation as well as an opportunity for the more experienced to deepen their practice and experience in building a community of prayer. There is prayer for our town every Thursday morning 9.00am till 10.30am at Central, the home of Palmer’s café. The meeting will take place in the upstairs room, and all are welcome. “A simple time of prayer, no frills, no refreshments, simply us and God together in love and unity.”
